In October of 2008 Groundwork Ministries, a non-profit organization was formed by Nate and Robin McAvoy. The McAvoys, along with their 7 boys (yes, 7 BOYS) have been in ministry for over 12 years. God has been forming Groundwork Ministries through those years of ministering to people all over the world. He has opened their eyes and hearts to unique needs for Christians and non-Christians alike.
Nate has been a Christian school teacher, worship leader and Youth Ministry Director at churches over the past 13 years. For the past 5 years, the entire family has traveled throughout the country as McAvoy Family Ministries (MFM). MFM is a resource for churches/schools through leading worship, Vacation Bible School, youth events, children and family events, concerts, etc.
Throughout the process of ministering as MFM, God instilled a vision to impact people in a deeper, more consistent way. Groundwork Ministries’ mission is to “Build Disciples from the Ground Up.” Through the foundation of God’s Word and His directives in that Word, Groundwork hopes to enable people to grow in their faith, so they can impact others.

Groundwork is based outside of Queen Creek, AZ (an “extreme” suburb of Phoenix). The local ministry vision of Groundwork is based out of God placing them in a unique geographical area. He has opened their eyes and hearts to see the need for many hurting families in the San Tan area. Again, please see the Vision page for more about the goals for this area.
WHAT WE BELIEVE:
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is authoritative and infallible in the original writings.
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of God the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that faith in our Lord Jesus Christ is essential for the salvation of lost and sinful man.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
We believe in the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and eternal life.
